Our Methodology
How we collect and process cost-of-living data
Data Definition
We gather essential metrics such as housing, food, transport, utilities, and entertainment. Definitions are based on international standards and official data from governmental bodies and sector portals.
We set uniform criteria for each metric, detailing units, measurement frequency, and acceptable ranges, ensuring consistency across all cities.
Data Collection
We source data from official country sources (statistical agencies, housing institutes, etc.) and reports from leading industry players like real estate portals and transport operators.
Our automated pipelines perform scraping and API calls; a team oversees and manually validates data to filter outliers and ensure integrity.
Processing & Analysis
Raw data undergoes cleaning—removing duplicates, handling missing values, and correcting errors—and normalization based on population and purchasing power.
We apply weightings according to each indicator’s relevance and cross-validate against historical benchmarks and reference studies.
Objectives & Assurance
Our goal is to deliver accurate, up-to-date data with full transparency: each figure includes its source and date of update.
We conduct periodic reviews and maintain a community feedback channel to correct errors and continuously refine our methodology.
